Client Testimonials

From Deborah McKenzie, January 2012:

"I have been working with Holly for over a year now.  She started working with my 8 yr old green horse and she has made all the difference in his development. I am thrilled with his progress and we are planning to start taking him to schooling shows soon.

Holly is a dedicated and thorough trainer.  She has a very professional and pleasant  demeanor and is always a pleasure to be with.  While working with my horse she maintains a positive and confident approach.  She rewards him with kind words and always keeps the lesson moving forward.

I have benefitted greatly from her work with him, as he has become a horse that is now fun for me to ride with less effort on my part.

She has spent a lot of time with him on flatwork to build the basics and he now has a great foundation for his jumping.

Holly has been able to school my horse at my property as we live in the same area.  The new facility that Holly has moved to has an excellent covered arena with good footing  and I am happy to haul my horse there for lessons. Plans are underway for a new outdoor jumping arena as well.

Stalls are large, clean and airy.

I am lucky enough to be able to keep my horses at home and am very "picky" about their welfare. I would not hesitate to have either of my horses in Holly's care at any time.  The care and concern she shows for her horses and those in her program is unquestionable.  She goes the extra mile when it comes to the management of any equine.

I have worked with other trainers in the past and I would rate Holly as one of the best.  I have been riding for more than 20 years and have worked at a local tack store for over 10 years.  I'm aware of many trainers and barns in our area, so feel that I am in a position that my opinion is of some value."

Client Testimonials

From Karen Wehman, January 2012:

"Holly has been a godsend to both my 14 year old daughter and our 6 year old, green, Thoroughbred. We had been with a trainer for 4 years prior to Holly but knew we had to make a change. I did extensive research and found Holly. It was a scary move for us but one we have never regretted nor have we ever looked back.

Through kind, positive and disciplined training she has taken a green horse and a 14 year old girl to new heights. My daughter has never smiled or enjoyed riding as much as she does now. Before we came to Holly it was a fight between my daughter and our horse. That took the fun out of riding and competing for my daughter (and I'm sure for our horse as well).

Our horse was charging fences, unbalanced and unengaged in his hind end. Within 1-2 lessons the charging fences was a thing of the past. Holly quickly taught our horse and my daughter techniques to correct the balance and make him engage his hind end. We have a "new" horse-one that my daughter LOVES to ride and compete with. They are a team. They now understand and respect each other. She gave both of them a great foundation. Now that she has given them a foundation, she is taking both of them to levels we never anticipated. Both my daughter and her horse are so much happier!

Holly always has my daughter and our horse's best interest in every aspect of their training. She is a professional and conducts herself as such. She is a kind, honest, trustworthy, responsible and very hard working. You do not have to spend much time with her to know that this is her first love."

Client Testimonials

From Nina Springer, January 2012:

"I have known Holly since my daughter joined the Pony Club in which Holly was an Upper Level Pony Clubber about a decade ago.  Despite her relative youth, Holly has always been someone to "look up to" for her high level of knowledge and her capable outlook.  Holly takes her students, the horses she trains, and their safety very seriously.  She has been a valuable instructor for our current young Pony Clubbers, has trained several of the Pony Club horses, and has also instructed adults at our barn.  Holly is a rare combination of horse intuition and strong organizational skills that makes her someone we can count on!"

Year-End Wrap Up

What a year it has been! Even with all of the exciting happenings this year, I cannot even begin to express how much I am looking forward to 2012.

2011 had plenty of momentous happenings - the purchase of Rumble, Connor's first horse trials, and the awesome opportunity to spend a few days lessoning with Bobby Costello, just to name a few. However, 2012 has the potential to be the best year yet.

In only 2 more days, my business will be relocating to a fantastic facility in order to better serve my clients. I am hopeful to see tremendous growth during the year. Both Connor and Rumble will be out at USEA Horse Trials beginning this coming spring, allowing me to have an ample amount of showing opportunities in the coming year. I'm also hoping to boost my business through the addition of a larger lesson program and through buying, training, and selling young prospects. Unlike many area trainers, my business, during 2011, expanded to include more than just one English discipline. I have students (and horses) who compete in dressage, hunters, and eventing. I look forward to expanding my credentials in 2012 in all three areas.

I do currently have several stalls available at the new facility. Please contact me if you are interested in joining the team!

Stay tuned for the latest happenings and Happy New Year!

Special Announcement!

Dear Friends,

It is with much excitement that I announce a great step forward for Flint Equestrian. On January 2, 2012, Flint Equestrian will be relocating to Sugar Land Stables in order to offer a full-service boarding facility to clients. Sugar Land Stables, located at 15131 Old Richmond Rd., Sugar Land, TX, is owned by Dr. James and Margaret Blackert and is managed by Janet Miner-Ramirez. The facility, which is situated on 10 acres, is conveniently located for Houston-area residents. Existing services offered by Sugar Land Stables will remain unchanged. Flint Equestrian will simply be operating out of the facility and offering expanded boarding and training options.

This move comes at an important time for Flint Equestrian and allows additional growth through offering new and improved services to clients. Sugar Land Stables boasts an impressive 100' X 200' covered, lighted arena for year-round riding comfort. Lessons and training will no longer be limited due to weather restrictions or daylight hours.

Horses will be provided with exceptional care and the full care program can be customized to meet the demands of each horse and owner. Showing opportunities will be plentiful for those with a desire to compete. At the end of this letter, you will find additional information on each of the types of board and training which will be offered. Please note that the base package includes full board and one lesson per week. Flint Equestrian's vision has always been to provide a high level of service and I feel this service is best provided to those willing to commit to a regular training program. My rates are guaranteed to be among the most affordable rates in town.

Flint Equestrian anticipates remarkable growth during 2012 with the move to Sugar Land Stables.  This will include an opportunity I have not offered in the past, a lesson program for individuals who do not own their own horse.  This will be a great opportunity for new Equestrians to be able to gain valuable experience in the saddle and progress towards their riding goals, whether they enjoy horses for pleasure, or desire to ride competitively in any of the English disciplines. This program is expected to launch during the summer of 2012.

Holly is currently accepting new clients beginning on January 2, 2012. If you are interested in becoming a part of a great team, please get in touch with me.

Thank you all for your continued support in making my dream a reality!
